Call for Interns (f) - Women in Action program

We are pleased to invite you to become an intern at the Women in Action program and SHE project

WASLA is looking for un-paid interns from Berlin, Germany in the following fields:

  1. Program coordination
  2. Logistics
  3. Social Media/ Digital Marketing/ Content Creation/Management
  4. Designer
  5. Partnerships
  6. Donors and supporters

 

Where?

Online

To reduce the spread of COVID-19 and in line with the measures adopted by the WASLA's board comittee, the WASLA all staff members based in Berlin are currently working remotely. Depending on the evolution of the corona virus pandemic, WASLA will announce when on site meetings are possible.

 

When? 

Interns can currently apply for one or more periods of the following:

  • Winter period (1st January – 30th March)
  • Spring period (1st April – 30th June)
  • Summer period (1st July – 30th September)
  • Autumn period (1st October – 30th December)

WASLA also will accept applicants who want to start their internship on different dates, or who have other requests, i.e. to make the internship period shorter or longer than what is mentioned above.

 

What is provided for the chosen intern?

WASLA will provide to interns all required information, documents and support to finish his/ her internship successfully and assistance during the learning process ensuring that all interns gain new skills, knowledge and change their attitude positively regarding intercultural issues.

Interns have the opportunity to attend our national events and international project meetings organised in the framework of the Erasmus+ programme.

WASLA will hand in an experience letter to all interns at the end of the internship.

There are chances in the near future to join WASLA staff depending on the available financial resources.

Who can apply?

Key skills and attributes

  1. Good analytical skills and ability to identify problems
  2. Team spirit with ability to establish and maintain good relationships with people of different nationality and cultural backgrounds
  3. Ability to take initiative and to work with minimal supervision/ independently
  4. Computer skills and ability to use relevant software applications, in particular information databases/ excel, internet, library resources, etc.
  5. Excellent research and drafting skills
  6. Fluency in German and/ or English essential (written and oral). Fluency in Arabic will be an advantage

We expect all interns to be committed, well-organised and hard-working, which includes being available online during the intern period. Depending on the evolution of the corona virus pandemic, WASLA will announce when on site meetings are possible.

 

Duties and responsibilities

What are the tasks required from the intern? 

This internship is opened for young people mostly for a 3 month period, to support the development of Women in Action program and SHE project. The intern is expected to participate in:

  1. Shared management of the Women in Action program and SHE project
  2. Responsible for communicating with current partners and identifying potential partners
  3. Other duties as may reasonably be required by the supervisor or WASLA board of directors
  4. Filling in the report after completion of the internship
  5. Previous work experience is necessary only for Designers (please attach your portfolio)
